CMAJ
Editorial Fellowship
The CMAJ Editorial Fellowship provides an exciting opportunity for physicians to discover the inner workings of a leading medical journal. This is a well-established, full-time position for individuals who have just completed their medical training and residency, as well as clinical epidemiology training, or for individuals further on in their careers who would like to spend a sabbatical year working on the journal.
As a physician and senior editor, the Editorial Fellow assists the other senior editors in many aspects of journal production, ranging from selecting and editing manuscripts to soliciting commentaries and review articles. The Fellow is expected to participate in the activities of all the major departments of the journal, including News, Practice, Scientific and Letters, and to contribute to the writing of editorials and other articles generated in-house. The Editorial Fellow is also expected to help the senior editors develop and implement new sections of the journal that will enhance the value of CMAJ to readers and contributing authors.
The position is full time for one year and is based at CMAJ’s offices in Ottawa. The salary
is based on the equivalent residency or fellowship remuneration in Ontario.
